Emma Levine: Headless Goat Polo and other sports
Emma Levine is a journalist, writer, broadcaster, documentary maker and cricket fan. Fascinated by Asian cultures Emma has travelled extensively throughout the area, include many of the countries in the so-called “Axis of Evil”. Her passion for cricket has led her to explore and support the womens’ cricket movement in Pakistan and Iranian womens’ football. You may be surprised by what she says in this video podcast about this sport in Iran, given the pictures that are often painted in mainstream media. Emma has developed an understanding of more traditional regional sports such as camel wrestling, oil wrestling and the classic Headless Goat Polo, about which she has written a book.
