Byxx: Rokon, Team Spidey, Dunlop
In this motorbike video podcast, we are all cloak and dagger-ish as we visit a secret military support establishment to review a 2-wheel drive motorbike.
We're in the workshop with Ricky Ross and Andy Peck of Team Spidey as they prepare their 1000cc Aprillia RSV Mille for The Sound of Thunder Championship. Ricky takes us through the arcane skills of wheel balancing, Andy gives us a guided tour of his decidedly un-standard bike.
Dunlop invited us up to Rockingham race circuit to the launch of their new road tyres, as part of their "From Race to Road" strategy. We interview the technicians behind the development of their multi-compound rubber; John McGuinness, Leon Haslam and Steve Parrish give their views of this innovation.
We also get a masterclass in how to perform the ultimate stoppie from Craig Jones and his wing man Wing, who must be the maddest man on the planet. Don't try this at home - if you do don't blame us if it all goes pear shaped!

If you read pod3.tv blogs
If you read pod3.tv blogs you'll find a common theme of two wheels, either human powered or motorised, as we like two wheels. So it was with great excitment that we were approached by Dunlop to cover their Race to Road launch of new tyre technology for sports bikes. We were treated very well during the day at Rockingham and it was wonderful to meet the top names of bike racing, Leon Haslam and John McGuinness, Steve Parrish being a former racer, and the totally mad Craig Jones. All were generous with their time and supportive of pod3.
The two-wheeld drive motorbike is a crazy machine with great off road capabilities, but I wouldn't want to ride one for very long - after all there is no suspension! We did our best to show off its capabilities, but the surrounding area didn't offer much by way of a challenge - but we did think towing my car was pretty impressive!
Andy Peck and Ricky Ross were great fun to work with and again, very generous with their time, setting aside a full day in their workshop so we could get as much footage as possible. I learned a lot fromt he bike prep, I hope you do too.
