Chichino: Summer in your soul

In this video podcast Chichino, hailing from Yorkshire UK, bring the summer to your ears all year round with their “21st Century Retro Chic” sound. Drawing on Northern Soul for inspiration, along with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Sister Sledge, Jamiroquoi, and the Brand New Heavies are on a mission to infuse the charts with the sound of Happy because, according to this irrepressible band, the charts are full of depressing Indie rock such as The Kaiser Chiefs and The Arctic Monkeys.

Does it get you moving? Are you into that groove? Does it make you feel good? With a soundscape of lyrics, sometimes memorable and meaningful, sometimes playful and witty, this bass and drum-lead music is impossible to stay still to.

Drummer, Andy, and bassist, Keith, are the funky backbone of Chichino. With their groovy beats, driving the band along, they’re guaranteed to have your feet itching to hit the dance floor. Guitarist, Gary, not only brings his cool riffs and licks to the sound, but also provides one of the voices of Chichino.

Narelle completes the Chichino line-up, with her piano and organ sounds that are right at the forefront of their beautiful stuff. She also leads the vocal mix, and has a soulful voice that complements her song writing skills.

Recorded live at Brooklands College Surrey, Chichino perform for the design students by way of a thank you for designing their stage outfits.
